According to the United Nations Childrens’s Fund (UNICEF), the South Asian earthquake, measuring 7.6 on the Richter Scale, left between 1.6 and 2.2 million children affected. The young people at Gimomoi Youth Polytechnic in western Kenya — leaders in agroforestry and natural resource management in their community — have been recognized with a grant from the Melinda Gray Ardia Environmental Foundation based in the US.
